Sunday school Faculty meeting.

On November, 6, 2016, a faculty meeting of the Sunday school of Wellington Church of Christ the Saviour was carried out. The school staff decided the following: the classes at the Sunday school are to start after the service, therefore the service itself has to begin earlier; the children attending the school should take part in the Sunday service (e.g. sing in the choir, help in the altar etc.); donations for the attendance of the school should be made by deposits onto the account of the sisterhood. The teachers approved the timetable for the next academic year. The decisions of the meeting will be brought to the notice of the parish council and further discussed with the parishioners.

The Russian Festival in Wellington.

A festival of Russian culture was held in Wellington on November, 5, 2016. The festival attracted many participants: singers and musicians performing Russian songs, a dancing group “Smuglyanka” from the Russian Orthodox church in Auckland, young gymnasts and many others. The programme included an excursus on the historical and cultural significance of Siberia presented by Vladimir Zvyagintsev.

The parishioners of Wellington Church of Christ the Saviour took active part in the festival. The sisterhood of the church prepared Russian food which was very popular with the guests of the festival. Younger visitors enjoyed the master class of painting traditional Russian dolls and other toys. The church choir performed a few pieces of sacred music which were very warmly welcomed by the audience.
