On June 14, 2017 a formal reception took place in Wellington Russian club to celebrate the Russian state holiday – Day of Russia. The function was organised by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in New Zealand.
Many guests attending the reception were welcomed by the hosts:
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia in New Zealand, Tonga and Samoa – Valery Tereshchenko, and his wife Aleksandra Tereshchenko;
Senior Counsellor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in New Zealand – Mikhail Korneev, and his wife Natalia Korneeva;
The Russian Orthodox clergy was represented by: the Dean of the Russian Orthodox church in New Zealand, archpriest Vladimir Boikov;
the priest of Wellington church of Christ the Saviour – archpriest Alexey Popkov, and his wife Olga Popkova.
Having greeted all the guests, ambassador Valery Tereshchenko congratulated everyone on the Day of Russia. All the guests were offered delicious refreshments prepared by the cook of the Embassy, as well as drinks.
