The Kurskaya-Korennaya Icon of the Mother of God

On March 4, 2019, at 14:00 on Monday, the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God arrived in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior for worship. Bishop Nikolai Olkhovsky and Archpriest Vladimir Boykov delivered the icon on this day. Few parishioners came to meet the icon and worship it.

At 18:00 a moleben was performed with an akathist before the icon. He headed the prayer Bishop Nicholas, co-served: prot. Aleksei Popkov and priest Predrag Grubachki (Serbian Orthodox Church). Before the start of the prayer service, Vladyka thanked the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to New Zealand Georgy Viktorovich Zuev and his spouse Nadezhda Ivanovna for their visit and interest in the life of the community of the Russian church. More than 70 people gathered for a prayer this evening.

On March 5, at 8:30 on Tuesday, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated, headed by Bishop Nicholas, and served as Fr. Vladimir Boykov and priest. Aleksei Popkov.

On the evening of that day, the icon of the Mother of God was brought to the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Sava, where she was met by the priest Predrag with the parishioners.
