Charity Fair in support of the Wellington Russian Church.

This page is also available in Russian

On November 23, 2019, a charity fair was held on the territory of the Russian church in Wellington, the main purpose of which was to collect donations to support church activities.

At 11:00, the opening of a personal photo exhibition by Alexei Kulikov, a photo artist, mainly taking photographs using lenses released in the last century, as well as using film, took place.

In parallel with the opening of the exhibition, the Garage sale began to work in the Sunday school classroom.

In the middle of the day, the kitchen began to work in the church hall, where everyone was invited to try traditional Russian dishes: borsch, Olivier salad, and vinaigrette. On the street, meanwhile, cooked kebabs and sausages. “Teremok” and the visiting peddlers offered to try cakes and sweets.

All guests were invited to watch a video that told about the secrets of cooking Russian borsch. Special thanks for the video editing to Alexei Medvedev.

Very pleased with the performance of Irina Shatalova. She performed several traditional dances accompanied by Vladimir Zvegintsev (accordion). Especially the guests of the fair were filled with a costume in which Irina danced to the public.

The concert was attended by:

Trio – Elena Street (vocals), Irina Dudarenko (piano), Alexey Medvedev (guitar);

Acoustic duet “Broken lexicon” – Brooke Davis (vocals), Alexey Medvedev (guitar);

Anastasia Dolinina (vocals) and Diego Pando Rubio;

Neilos Hodges (guitar);

Priest Alexei Popkov (harp);

Natalya Belyaeva.

Our fair was visited by Paul Eagle, a Member of Parliament from the Labor Party.

The main goal of the fair was to collect donations for the church. Together, they managed to raise 1420 New Zealand dollars. This is a good result.

Everyone can make a donation through the online service on our website.

We thank everyone who helped in organizing and conducting the fair.
